Safeguarding Our Children

At Newnham Primary School, the safety, wellbeing and happiness of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a secure, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, respected and able to achieve their full potential.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. All staff, governors, volunteers and visitors share a commitment to protecting children from harm and promoting their welfare. We maintain a strong safeguarding culture where concerns are identified early and acted upon swiftly.

Reporting a Concern

If you are worried about a child's safety or wellbeing, please speak to a member of the safeguarding team as soon as possible.

If you believe a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact the police on 999.

Online Safety

Technology plays an important role in children's lives, and we are committed to teaching pupils how to use digital devices safely and responsibly. Through our curriculum and assemblies, children learn about:

• Safe use of the internet
• Cyberbullying
• Social media awareness
• Privacy and personal information
• Healthy online behaviours
• Reporting online concerns

Operation Encompass

Newnham Primary School is proud to be part of Operation Encompass, a national initiative that supports children who may have experienced domestic abuse. Through close partnership working with the police, relevant information is shared with school to ensure appropriate support can be provided.
