Pupils visit Roman Fort

Year 3 and 4 pupils from Newnham Primary School recently went to Lunt Roman Fort in Coventry to learn about life during the Roman Empire.

Pupils had the chance to follow in the footsteps of Roman soldiers, dressing up as Roman legionnaires and auxiliary soldiers and this improved their learning about life at a Roman Fort.

Mrs Fahy, Class Teacher, said: “The children tried some battle drills and made the tortoise formation with their shields, which looked very intimidating!

"Everyone had a fantastic day and the pupils have written brilliant information texts using what they learnt during the visit.”
