Pupils set the pace at cross country event

Pupils from Newnham Primary School competed in the Daventry schools cross country event last week.

The race, held at Woodford Halse Primary School, saw all Daventry schools compete with more than 1,022 runners aged between 7 and 11 taking part.

Not only did pupils represent the school, Newnham also had children who finished within in the first quadrant of runners and pupils who held hands and finished in latter quadrants demonstrating admirable team spirit.

Kim Cresswell, Headteacher, said: “Well done to you all and thank you to the teachers that organised, and the parents that transported and supported our pupils endeavours. I am sorry I wasn’t able to be with you this year but as always I am very proud of all of you.”
