Food for thought at harvest festival

Pupils at Newnham Primary School celebrated the harvest festival earlier this month.

Pupils took part in a special celebratory service at the local church  and made up harvest baskests for local food banks.

Kim Cresswell, Head teacher said: "We believe it is important that our children learn the importance of the harvest and show gratitute towards where our food comes from. We always get such a generous collection of food baskets at the school and this year was no exception."

The Harvest Food bank were so impressed by the childrens work that they invited the school council to visit the bank. Food was distributed and whole meals with instructions were very well received.
